Day 24: 22 is Great.

So, today is my birthday. I turn 22 years old. I just had a fabulous weekend with some amazing people. I had some of my best friends from all aspects of my life... friends from home that I've had since the early days of childhood and friends from high school, friends from Syracuse, friends from my sorority, and friends I met while studying abroad. The girls traveled in from Connecticut, New York City, Long Island, and the Jersey shore.

It honestly meant so much to me that they all came to see me and I had a fabulous time with them. When they left today (with the exception of one who is on the couch with me now and staying until Tuesday) it was a really bittersweet feeling because I don't get to spend time with them every day. But I wouldn't have wanted to spend my birthday with any other people and in any other way. Well, we all could have done without one particular pony-tailed skeeze-ball bouncer being disgustingly rude to some of my friends.

But what I learned from this weekend and from today, my birthday, that 22 is going to be a great year. I have a really charming place to live and a new city to explore. I have a great job that allows me to grow and explore and deal with exciting programs. I have wonderful things to look forward to like visits to friends, my sister's wedding, and opportunities with work. And I also have incredible, amazing friends. I know I touched upon this earlier in my Boston post, but I am so fortunate in my life to have such incredible people in it. It means so much to have seen them this weekend.

What I learned today on my 22nd birthday is that this year is going to an exciting one in my life filled with self growth, change, excitement, opportunity, and of course, my network of supportive and loving friends that will forever be a constant my life.
